signature cards for the bank account were followed.
The responsibilities of the new board are as follows:
-
Barb
Hallman – President
-
Jim
Klementisz – Vice President
-
John
Pritchard - Treasury
-
Pam
Ley – Secretary
-
Albert
McCormick – Member at large
Again
the board would like to thank alumni members Mike Washington and Mike
Roynan for their prior two years of service. New board members Pam Ley and
Albert McCormack were elected to the board in the annual association’s
community meeting in April.
They will each serve a two year term.
Please
take the time to congratulate these folks for their achievement and their
willingness to contribute to this cause.
Additionally the board discussed the
following topics:
Fieldstone Punch List:
Meeting with Tim Woodrow and Joe Thoma
Thursday April 22nd
Jim Klementisz conducted a walk around with Tim Woodrow (Skippack Township
Engineer) and Joe Thoma (Fieldstone Associates) regarding several open
issues still remaining on the communities punch list. Listed below is the
list discussed:
Tree Replacement:
I
am sure you all have noticed that we now have TREES.
After several follow up calls to both Fieldstone Associates and the
Skippack
Township
both their Engineer’s office and their attorneys trees are being planted
in the community the week of May 17th.
We have been assured by Joe Thoma that all trees will be planted by
the end of this week. Since
these are newly planted tress we are asking everyone’s help in keeping
them health. Please take the
time if you live near an open space where there is a newly planted tree,
please bring your take the time to given them an occasional drink of
water. It looks like it is going to be a hot summer and now that the trees
have been replaced it is no longer the township or Fieldstones
responsibility to make sure they are keep alive.
The board is planning on purchasing “Gator” bags to put around
the trees in the front entrance area, this will help prolong the period
for which we need to water the trees, however we will need help in making
sure there is water in the bags.
Retention Basins
The
basin between lot 11 and 12 will be corrected by installing an underground
perforated PVC pipe from the point of the water ponding to the drain
opening at the far end. The
retention basin at the front entrance also has a hole on the side that
drops down into the basin about eight feet.
We have asked for a screen protection barrier to be placed in the
opening.
Sidewalk on Buck Hollow
Tim
was not sure if the black top walkway on Buck Hallow was the work of
Fieldstone or John Garis (the builder next door).
He will follow up with both builders.
Cracks in the Walkway
Cracks
in the walkways will be corrected. Also, some sidewalks show damage from
what they believe is attributed rock salt. Tim has asked Joe fix them as
well. However we should all
take this into consideration this next winter when salting the walkways.
Erosion behind lots 36 and 37 and the
Common Area in front of
Mountain Laurel Circle
The
erosion will be corrected by applying top soil and seeding.
Also, the temporary erosion filter will be removed from lot 37.
The
board will like to thank the Green
Thumb Committee for their beautiful planting at the front entrance.
Special thanks go to Fran
Tendall for coordinating the planting efforts and her helpers Mike and
Mary Washington, Melissa Older, David Marks, Susan Jablokov, and Brendan
Vitari. Also thank you to the
mulchers Jessica Guyer, Brian Ley, Mike Gempp, Bob Older, Ray Geissel and
the Mulch Committee coordinaters Quan Nguyen
and Mike Washington. And thanks to Pam Ley and Dave Marks for their
pruning efforts.
Annual Skippack Ridge BBQ and Annual
Golf Outing
Saturday
June 12th is the date for both the golf outing at the
Worchester Golf Course and Neighborhood BBQ.
Please contact Brian Ley for details on the golf outing.
Janet Fries, Veronica Vitari, and Pam Ley are planning this year’s
BBQ which will be held at the Skippack Pool.
Details will be forthcoming shortly.
Trash Removal
At
the last community meeting Dave Marks suggested we look into a community
contract with waste removal companies in the area to see if we could get a
community rate. Dave has contacted the three companies in the area and
obtained the following bids.

Waste Management

$22.00 per month
/ 1 pick up per week

Less than 100% of
the home owners participation is required.

The
board would like to solicit the communities interesting in participating
in this proposal. If we
elected to participate in the offering the board would then be responsible
for collecting the funds from each homeowner on some periodic basis
(quarterly or annually) as part of your increased dues.
Based on the above proposals each homeowner would save
approximately $6.00 per month. This
savings could either be shared with the community association (for
increased expenses, planting of the common areas, community events, etc)
or passed back to the homeowners directly.
A survey will be sent out asking for your opinion.
It’s important to remember that this would require a change to
the by-laws since there would be additionally services provided by the
board and would require a 51% approval rating prior to adoption.
Next Board Meeting
The
next board meeting has been scheduled for
7:00
on Tuesday August 10th at Jim and Roseanne Klementisz house at
4442 Mountain Laurel Circle
.
