Wednesday February 9, 2005 Minutes
Board Members present:
Barb Hallman, Jim Klementisz, Albert McCormick, Pam Ley, John Pritchard
Homeowners present: none
Meeting location: Albert McCormick’s home
- Barb Hallman resigned from her
position as Board President and Board Member, due to personal
reasons. We thank Barb for all her time, effort, and dedication.
- Skippack Ridge Community
Association Board elections are due to be held at the next meeting
on Tuesday, April 12, at 7 PM, at the Skippack Township Municipal
Building (in the Community Room), 4089 Heckler Road, Skippack.
If anyone is interested in the Board President’s position prior to
then, please contact
Board@skippackridge.com or send a letter of
interest to SR Community Association, PO Box 1411, Skippack, PA,
19474.
- Reviewed and accepted last
meeting’s minutes.
- Skippack Township Manager, Ted
Locker, informed Albert that he has inquired among homeowners along
Perkiomen Creek Road as to the ownership of the wandering guinea
hens seen throughout the neighborhood. No one has claimed ownership,
and it appears that the birds may have been left behind by a
previous owner. Please do not feed these hens, as many neighbors,
dogs, and children consider them a nuisance.
- Jim received an estimate from
Providence Landscaping for the grass-cutting of our common areas
again this year. Spring mulching and planting will be done once
again by Skippack Ridge volunteers, in order to keep our costs low.
A flyer will be put in the mail in mid-May for a date and time for
volunteers.
- John presented an updated 2005
Budget which is now available on the Skippack Ridge web-site at
www.skippackridge.com
- Jim gave an update from Fieldstone
and Associates (our builders): the bond was released and all
required work has been completed. A safety grate was not required
to be placed over the water-retention drain at the front entrance
area.
- Pam presented information on
hiring a property management company. Estimates are $10-$12 per home
per month, in addition to what our approximate costs (dues) are now.
The property manager would work with the Board, and be responsible
for preparing a budget for our approval, for collecting all dues and
for handling any problems or complaints in the neighborhood. We
will have more of an open discussion at the next meeting in April to
get input from SR residents.
- Any volunteers interested in
helping with common-areas snow removal for compensation must contact
Pam Ley at Board@skippackridge.com IN ADVANCE before shoveling
designated areas. Pam will assign volunteers specific areas to be
responsible for, and they will be compensated accordingly. We are
grateful to have Nickolai Jablokov do such a fine job shoveling for
us these last few snowfalls.
- We will hold another annual SR
Clean-Up Day in the spring. A flyer will be placed in the mail with
more information at a later date.
- Nominations will be accepted for
three Board Member positions (each for a two-year term) prior to the
April 12 meeting, when voting will be held. Information to follow
in the upcoming weeks.
- A new SR residents’
telephone/address directory will be updated and sent out soon to all
residents.
