Concern over the wandering guinea
hens was addressed in regards to an e-mail received from Mike
Washington.
Mike suggested hiring someone to capture and relocate the hens to
another living environment. It is noted
by the Board that these hens are a loud nuisance to some residents;
however, they do eat insects including
the deer ticks that cause Lyme disease. At this time the Board will
not pursue capturing/relocating the
hens, so as not to set a precedent to control other wildlife in our
community

An e-mail of concern received by
the Board on the issue of unleashed domestic cats from Sheri
Thompson was
addressed. Sheri had issues previously noted by the Board with cats
defecating in her landscape. She
currently has an issue with cats scratching the paint on her car,
and killing baby bunnies in her yard. The
Board had contacted Skippack Township in the past and was informed
that there are no “leash laws” for
domestic cats. Since there are township regulations for dogs to be
kept on leashes, and to be “cleaned up
after,” Sheri asks that all cat-owners be responsible and aware of
what their cats might be doing to another
person’s property. She asks residents with outdoor cats to be
courteous of your neighbors, even if there is
not a specific township law to enforce the issue. The Humane Society
has some helpful advice and tips on
this topic; click onto:
